So i'm piggybacking another company - they produce the cars for me - i "sell" them into the contract. The "thing" i figured out recently, which made the game much more interesting for me and my >1000 hrs of playtime, was the ability to get cars from outsourcing contracts, that i can offer to contracts. Or integrate fixed prices as sort of a limit - that's the max price the contractor would pay - and the player can think about much lower than that price he can offer his cars and compete with others for the best deal below that amount of money? Or make fixed prices all over and delete the option for player prices? Maybe we're employing a contract advisor right from the start that suggest certain prices? Or for military contracts there could be an officer involved who suggests a price range - basically just a number in the contract text that gives a certain direction for the player. This would need some indication though about how high the contract price could possibly be. Your car costs 10.000$ - so 2x would be a little to much profit - so multiplier could be 1.05 or 1.1 for 500-1000$ profit per car. This would have to scale down the higher the price for obvious reasons: Your car costs 500$ - multiplier max is 2x - max contract price would be 1000$ If there would be something in place like a multiplier for maximum contract price: It might also be worth noting that this worked partly because I knew what the timeline looked like and what the contract demands would look like, and imediately started building pickups and vans to meet those before the contracts even started showing up.Ĭan't see why this would be considered cheating either!? There were several $800/unit contracts, which seems realistic IMO especially around WWI, but it also seemed like there were just as many at $6000/unit. The only thing that seems off to me with contracts is that the prices are all over place. I didn't get every contract, but I did get enough that it was pushing the limit of my manufacturing just to keep up with the minimum production. (My manufacturing costs were around $400/unit) Bid contracts I just bid $2500 on everything because that seemed to be low enough to get almost every contract, even if I could have gotten more. Fixed contracts I was almost guaranteed to get because I had the world's best pickup design, and those were typically $3000-$6000/unit. If I make them too easy to make money off of, we get unrealistic results like this (which I hate seeing). If I make contracts too unprofitable I get complaints. Made $1 Trillion by the 40's just off contracts alone. Were these bid contracts or fixed priced contracts?
